There is a major amount of cognitive dissonance going on where
there should be unity of purpose. People have had it with the
loose cannon in Washington, the deranged t-Rump (dinosaur with
large ass) and try various means of resistance. Yet while holding
that thought in half their brain, the other half contemplates the
candidacy of Pierre Poilievre (PP) of the Conservative
Party. Not necessarily in voting support, but in sane-washing him
as credible candidate while actually he should be laughed off the
stage. But that will not happen while the neo-liberal-controlled
media are allowed to manage the sphere of public thought.
I've made this abundantly clear in previous posts:
Dangerous Neo-liberal Think
Tanks
and
Canada
- Wake up!
Yet most people are still protected from the reality that t-Rump and PP drink from the same think tanks and their policies will eventually align. If you truly want to keep Canada as a sovereign nation, if you truly reject Trumpism, you must make every effort to sideline PP and his party, in what could be the last free election in the separate nation of Canada.
The upcoming federal election parallels in so many ways the 2024 US federal election. In both countries, the party opposing the neo-liberal faction put up an elitist, out-of-touch-with-the-people person as a candidate, essentially handing the election to the pretend-populist candidate. The leadership selection in Canada is elitist by design, with the entrance requirement to be a candidate being C$350,000, more than the life savings of most of the population. Then the leadership vote by supposed party members who don't even have to pay for membership and don't need to prove that they are not a Conservative voter, vote in a candidate who instantly becomes the active Prime Minister, no federal vote required. That, by a mere 152,000 voters.
So now we have this new Prime Minister who has acquired all the quasi-presidential powers that have slowly accrued to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), in charge of the country, while the withered-away Parliament still is locked out by being pro-rogued. This new one, PM Mark Carney, exists in a realm about 29 pay-grades above real working people and the notion that he can reach them down at their level is far-fetched but of course not impossible, just very unlikely especially with the present time constraints. This elitist level could be demonstrated by looking at him as the person who the CEOs of the Big Banks (8-figure salaries) would ask of for advice. While it is yet an unknown if he is under the influence of the neo-liberal think tanks, with PP you know that as a certainty. Therefore all the other parties must end their outdated campaign strategies of running full slates of candidates in order to secure public finance and minimum representation in the (now almost useless) Parliament. They must agree among each other to avoid splitting the non-PP vote which would directly hand the government to neo-liberal control.
The neo-liberal ideology dates back to the Mont Pelerin
Society (1947) and its coterie of interlocking think tanks, such
as the Fraser Institute and includes among other desires:
• Emphasizing "Economic Freedom" over all other
rights (sweep money to the rich)
• Elimination of trade unions
• Elimination of any government regulated activity
including health care
• Privatization of almost every government
service
• Shrink government to the size where you can drown
it in a bathtub.
The emphasis on strategic voting must apply to all parties – if in each district they do not have enough support to secure a definite win, they must not field a candidate. That applies to Greens and NDP and any minor parties that seek election. There is a special case for the Bloc that Québec party that secures their own section in Parliament so that a special "Québec" point-of-view is represented in the Canadian government. In this election, however, that is a bogus proposition – each person must make their vote count for Canada rather than any special regional considerations. Vote for Canada or vote for annexation. Hold your nose and vote for Carney (as Americans should have done with that dork-candidate Harris), or vote the country into the hands of the neo-liberals and Canada's version of Project 2025 with PP.
While PP accuses Carney as being "Trudeau 2.0," Carny must
reply that PP is "Harper 2.0 on steroids" and to understand this,
you must do ONE LAST THING before watching this country's demise
